The consulting activities
I have been involved with have expanded my knowledge, skills and
abilities. They have been diverse, involving work with
Shepler's Mackinac Island Ferry, Inc., Binder
Park Zoo, Steele Enterprises, The Department of Natural Resources -
Parks and Recreation Division, and Mancino's. The consulting
itself ranged from integrating marketing and developing marketing
plans to training parks rangers how to be trainers to
developing a quality service training and delivering it to over 200
employees.

In the past five years, I
have worked more extensively with three companies,
LaBelle
Management,
Central Michigan Community Hospital,(CMCH
Evaluation), and
Canton Leisure
Services. This work was more focused on marketing related
activities including sales training, marketing plan development, and
integrated marketing training. Samples of work with these
agencies can be accessed by the agency name.
Currently, I am working
with Shepler's Mackinac Island Ferry and Newaygo County Convention
and Visitor's Bureau on extensive market research, training, and
strategic marketing plans. |

“We wanted to take our department to the next level, we just
didn’t know how to get there. (Her) ability to train us in
marketing, connect with our department and staff, understand
our community and share your knowledge and enthusiasm has
been exceptional.”
Debra Bilbrey-Honsowetz, CLP, Manager of Recreation and
Facilities, Canton Leisure Services

“Her skills as a strategist and researcher were obvious in
the materials that she developed to meet the needs and
challenges that were faced by our complex agency. She
conducted our first train the trainer workshop, for over 75
employees, with a sincerity and enthusiasm that was
positively accepted by even the most skeptical of our
employees. Most importantly, the simple 2 page training
plan that Dr. Janes developed for our Park and Recreation
Bureau, over 6 years ago, has stood the test of time.”
Monica Terrell, Department Specialist, Parks and Recreation
Bureau, Department of Natural Resources
